Clovis man used Las Vegas casinos to launder money from fraud, DOJ says

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 45-year-old federal inmate formerly of Clovis, who worked with a 26-year-old man from Delano and Las Vegas in a real estate fraud scheme, was sentenced on Monday in a Fresno federal courtroom.

According to court records, in 2021 and 2022, 45-year-old Seth Depiano, formerly of Clovis, conspired with 26-year-old Gilberto Barron, formerly of Delano and Las Vegas, as well as others. Depiano was at the time serving a 12-year sentence for a prior multi-million-dollar fraud case.

Depiano, assisted by Barron and others, helped create fake identities for supposed real estate agents and shell companies that mirrored the names of legitimate real estate companies…
