BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Did the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department drop off a busload of people – maybe parolees, maybe homeless folks – and ditch them in a west Bakersfield shopping center?

That’s the implication of a social media post that stirred up concern in the upscale vicinity of Buena Vista Road and White Lane.

It all started around midday Wednesday when a prisoner transport bus belonging to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department parked in the lot at Belcourt Village, outside Vecchio’s Pizzeria. A customer, Kirstin Kind, snapped a photo of the bus and posted it on Instagram, speculating that the men she saw emerge from the transport vehicle might be, well, undesirables…
