Federal and local law enforcement agencies have successfully dismantled a large-scale clandestine methamphetamine conversion lab housed inside a residence in a rural desert neighborhood in the Central Valley, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s San Francisco Division announced Monday.
The operation was led by DEA San Francisco agents in coordination with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department following an intensive narcotics investigation.
Due to the extreme hazards posed by large quantities of hazardous, unknown chemicals inside the residence, on-site lab personnel were assisted by the San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Hazmat unit to safely process the dangerous and unsanitary facility.
