Flock Safety cameras spread across Kern County, drawing notice in BPD case updates

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Flock Safety cameras are becoming a more visible presence across Kern County, and they are also showing up more often in how local law enforcement describes its investigations.

The Bakersfield Police Department is currently using about 130 Flock Safety cameras across the city. A review of recent Bakersfield Police Department press releases found the cameras were being called out by name, including in cases where they helped officers identify a vehicle, locate a suspect or move an investigation forward.
