His friend and owner of the shop, Jon Coley, says Berg had walked over to the Downtown Market on 19th and M streets on Thursday night to buy an orange juice.

That same night, at approximately 2:37 a.m., BPD officers say they responded to the 1200 block of 19th Street regarding a report of a man down on the sidewalk. Officers arrived and located the man and could not find a pulse. Authorities said the male was pronounced deceased on scene.

When Coley arrived at the shop the following morning, he said he noticed something different.
