BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A new study has declared Bakersfield “the most sustainable small city in the United States.”
The study, conducted by “ Rycor Heating and Cooling, ” looked at more than 100 small cities and ranked them based on their number of EnergyStar buildings, alternative fuel stations, farmers markets, walkability and transit.
With these factors in mind, Rycor declared Bakersfield as the most climate-conscious and sustainable town in the U.S., followed by Lansing, Michigan and Wilmington, Delaware.
