Temperatures will see winter warm-up early this week: Some records possible in California

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a weather alert for the Central Valley in California as many locations are poised to reach near-record high temperatures on Monday, with some areas experiencing record warmth again on Tuesday.

The NWS provided probabilities from National Blend of Models (NBM) guidance, forecasting the likelihood of temperatures exceeding 70 degrees Fahrenheit from Sunday through Tuesday.

The warming trend is not limited to the Central Valley, as the NWS anticipates this unseasonably warm weather to extend into the Kern County Desert and Sierra Nevada foothills.

Residents in these areas can expect maximum temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to near 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

This represents a notable departure from the normal temperatures for this time of year, with temperatures expected to be 10 to 13 degrees above the seasonal average.
