Woman in critical condition after being hit by truck in central Bakersfield: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a truck in central Bakersfield on Saturday night, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

BPD said at approximately 11:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of 4th and V streets regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, officers located a woman in the roadway suffering major injuries.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance, where she is listed in critical condition.

Man dead after apparent shooting in east Bakersfield: BPD

According to BPD, a preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a dark colored pick-up truck was traveling northbound in the 300 block of V Street when they collided with the woman, who was in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver allegedly fled the scene.
