5 take plea deals in theft of 30 guns, $10K from Bakersfield home

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Five people have taken plea deals in connection with the December theft of about 30 guns and $10,000 in cash from a northeast Bakersfield home.

Kyle Lisman, Junior Ray Parker, Ryan Daniel, Jaden Lehman-Lewis and Shelby Ann McKay each accepted plea agreements this week that will result in Lehman-Lewis being sentenced to a year in jail and the others referred to the county’s work release program, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Sentencing is scheduled March 13.

According to a court filing, Lisman broke into a mailbox and found a postal service notification for a mail hold stating the homeowner would be on vacation. The homeowner’s son checked the house on Dec. 20 and found the back door forced open and items missing.

Lisman was caught on surveillance video using credit cards stolen from the home at a Target, the filing says. His family identified him after police released a still image from the footage.

Police learned Lisman worked with others to move the stolen guns to his Oildale home, according to the filing.
