4 arrested during DUI checkpoint on Ming Ave: Bakersfield PD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department said officers arrested four drivers on suspicion of alcohol or drug intoxication during a checkpoint Saturday night.

Police said the checkpoint took place in the 1900 block of Ming Avenue near South H Street from 6 p.m. until midnight.

In a statement, police officials said three drivers were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and one driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Seventeen vehicles were impounded during the operation, police said.

Officers screened 746 vehicles during the checkpoint.

Anyone who sees a suspected intoxicated driver is urged to call 911.
