Intensive manhunt underway for California attempted murder suspect, 21, who fled in victim’s car

A violent incident unfolded today in the 400 block of Peppermint Court in Wasco, leaving a 52-year-old woman with multiple life-threatening stab wounds. Kern County Sheriff’s deputies, responding promptly to the scene around 10:00 a.m., found the victim in distress and rushed her to a local hospital for immediate treatment.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Randy Flores Lopez of Wasco, is now the subject of an intense manhunt, the sheriff’s office said. During the investigation, it was revealed that Flores Lopez not only carried out the stabbing but also fled the scene in the victim’s silver 2005 Chrysler Minivan, bearing California License Plate 6LQE901.

Law enforcement has issued an active arrest warrant for Flores-Lopez on charges including Attempted Murder (Penal Code Sections 664/187), Assault with a Deadly Weapon (245(a)(1)), and Carjacking (215(a)). An additional warrant is in effect for his arrest due to a probation violation.
