Tumbleweeds Take over Southern California Town Like Something Out of a Movie

The weather blowing through Southern California these past few days has been nothing short of mind-boggling. As bands of atmospheric rivers pass over the normally dry, sunny region, SoCal communities have been hit hard with abnormally heavy rain, torrential flash floods, mudslides, and high winds rivaling hurricanes in force.

But while some areas in Southern California are still recovering from floods and storm damage, others currently look like something straight out of a Hollywood western. Yesterday, one SoCal local drove through Arvin, California, a small town near Bakersfield, and… ok, you know when those tumbleweeds always blow through town in those Old West movies? Think that, but turned up to 11:

Jackie alluded to the recent atmospheric rivers in her caption, which sent strong winds blowing all throughout Southern California . These gusts topped well over 60 mph at points, strong enough to tear down a tree in Sacramento on Monday. Unsuprisingly, these winds had no problem pulling a hundred or so tumbleweeds along with them.
