BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Overnight rain has caused multiple rockslides on Highway 178 throughout the Kern River Canyon prompting a long term closure Thursday morning. Highway 178 is closed through Kern Canyon between Bakersfield and Lake Isabella. Highway 178 is also closed at Highway 14 due to snow and ice, according to the California Highway Patrol Incident Information Page.
