Kern County Sheriff’s Office detectives found several items including copper wire stolen from local companies at an illegal recycling center at a residence. Deputies who served a search warrant Friday in the 8500 block of Kam Avenue in Bakersfield found about 2,300 pounds of nonferrous material including copper, aluminum and brass, along with an illegal assault rifle, a KCSO news release said.
