1 dead after traffic collision in south Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — One woman is dead and two others are injured after a multi-vehicle wreck on Friday night.

On Feb. 9, one woman was killed in a wreck near Hughes and White Lanes, after an alleged intoxicated driver crashed into her. Two other victims suffered injuries in the crash, which occurred around 11:08 p.m., and were transported to a nearby hospital, according to Bakersfield police.

Police followed an SUV from a car meet they had been monitoring when they came upon the traffic collision. The SUV struck a white sedan with three adults inside. The driver of the SUV was a man who police say had three prior DUI convictions within the last six years and was taken to jail.
