Former broadcaster Jose Gaspar recognized for years of service, advocacy in Kern County Area

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Assemblymember Dr. Jasmeet Bains honored former television broadcaster Jose Gaspar for his achievements within the community on Friday.

On Feb. 9, former Telemundo anchor, Jose Gaspar, was honored for a career of contribution towards the betterment of Kern County citizens. A plaque was presented to Gaspar on Friday afternoon by Dr. Bains and others appreciative of his work in the community.

“This was totally unexpected, it’s work that I love to do,” said Gaspar. “Just serving the community, is the best reward I get out of it, it’s like icing on the cake.”

Gaspar had served communities since he was just 16 years old, beginning in Chicago and finally ending in Kern County just last year.
