The Bakersfield Police Department will have a new public information officer after the former PIO was promoted Monday to the rank of lieutenant. Sgt. Eric Celedon will take over for Lt. Andrew Tipton, who will now oversee the Community Engagement Division. Tipton said he will continue to help Sgt. Celedon as he transitions into his new role.
