A Bakersfield welding and construction company has been ordered to pay back wages to workers who a federal investigation found were denied overtime pay. The U.S. Department of Labor reported Tuesday that Universal Welding and Construction Inc. on Snow Road failed to pay 74 employees overtime rates for work done beyond 40 within a single workweek.
