1 injured, 2 dogs rescued in Rosamond fire: KCFD

ROSAMOND, Calif. (KGET) — One person was injured and two dogs were rescued in a Valentine’s Day fire, according to the Kern County Fire Department.

KCFD said on Wednesday at 1:22 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a house on fire on Stagecoach Lane in Rosamond. Further reports stated that there was smoke and fire in a back bedroom.

Upon arrival, crews found a double-wide mobile home with a fire in a corner bedroom, smoke was also seen coming from the rear corner of the structure. Bystanders informed the crew that a victim was injured in the fire, and the patient was transported via helicopter to a hospital.

KCFD said crews attacked the blaze and successfully contained it to the room where it started. Upon searching beneath a bed, two small dogs were found alive and swiftly taken out of the smoke to fresh air. The dogs were reunited with their owner, according to KCFD.

No injuries to firefighters occurred, and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
