The Lobos improve to 1-1 on the season, with the Roadrunners dipping to 0-2. They’ll face each other one more time at Surprise Stadium on Monday at 2 p.m. Asby produced three of five hits and three of four RBI for the Lobos with two home runs and a single – as well as a run-saving diving grab in the outfield – with Josh McAlister also homering and Konner Kinkade adding a single to round out the Lobos’ bats. Luke Mansy and Reed Spenrath both got on base once with a walk each, with Kyle Smith getting aboard on a hit-by-pitch before Asby’s single got him across for UNM’s all-important fourth run.
