Bakersfield reached 105 degrees Monday, some relief expected by end of the week

Heat wave #2 is still going strong on its third day in Kern County, with temperatures hitting 105° in Bakersfield on Monday. However, relief is on the way by the end of the work week with temperatures returning to the mid-upper 90s across Kern County.

The heat advisory has been extended until Tuesday at 11 AM, where temperatures are expected to reach around 104°.

Very active thunderstorm activity north of Kern County on Monday with measurable precipitation in the Fresno area. The moisture comes after the remnants of Tropical Storm Alberto continue to push north.

Air quality is expected to improve tomorrow, reaching a moderate level with an AQI of 100.
