Bakersfield teen competing to become 67th ‘Distinguished Young Woman of America’

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield teen is competing at the national level to become the 67th “Distinguished Young Woman of America.”

Noor El Keramy Earned the title of “Distinguished Young Woman of California” last July. This week she is in competition in Mobile, Alabama.

National Boys and Girls Club week recognizes Kern’ County branches

The national participants are volunteering in the Mobile community, developing life skills for college and their future careers.

El Keramy graduated as valedictorian at Stockdale High School. She’s heading to Stanford in the fall to pursue a career in bioengineering. She will also continue to dance with Stanford’s “Cardinal Ballet Company.”
