BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – One person is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday in east Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol. On June 30, the California Highway Patrol and Kern County Sheriff’s Office were at the scene of a fatal hit-and-run incident near the intersection of Mt. Vernon Avenue and East California Avenue. At about 2:21 p.m., law enforcement received reports of a hit-and-run collision on Mt. Vernon Avenue.
