Elks Lodge hosts Honor Flight Breakfast on 4th of July

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Every month, the Elks Lodge serves breakfast to Kern Veterans at the Honor Flight Breakfast, this month’s patriotic event perfectly fell on Independence Day.

The Veterans meet at the Elks Lodge in Downtown Bakersfield to share a meal together and get updates from Honor Flight Kern County. The event continues to fundraise money for the next trip, which is scheduled to take off in October.

Shelters do what they can to help homeless people amid scorching heat wave

If you know a Kern Veteran who wants to take the flight to Washington D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor, Kern’s chapter is accepting applications from any U.S. Veterans who are 75 years and older.
