Rooster’s Honkytonk concert benefits Borel Fire victims

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A concert fundraiser was held Wednesday evening in an effort to help those struggling during the Borel Fire.

On Aug. 7, Rooster’s Honkytonk in downtown Bakersfield was the site of the event, consisting of live music and a live auction. Organizers say all proceeds and 50% of bar sales are going towards the American Red Cross to help those struggling to recover from the devastating wildfire.

“The Kern County community is so generous, everyone is always willing to jump in and help as soon as the need arises, and this is no exception,” said Phillip Peters, District 1 County Supervisor. “I just want to thank David Brust and Rooster’s Honkytonk for putting this on and Angels Roost for coming out and playing.”

There was also a collection of gently used and new household items to be distributed to fire victims by the Salvation Army.
