City pools closing Friday and Sunday depending on location

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Sure signs that summer is over?

Schools start next week and the city pools are closing. Friday is the last day to enjoy most of the city pools.

Comfortable temps to arrive just in time for back-to-school week

The pools at Silver Creek Park, Jefferson Park and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park are open from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 9. Then they close for the season.

McMurtrey Aquatic Center will be open 1-3:30 p.m. Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, only through Labor Day. These hours will go into effect after Sunday, Aug. 11.

Admission costs $1 each at Silver Creek, Jefferson and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while it costs $4 per person at McMurtrey .

The City’s spray parks are open through Labor Day Sept. 2.
