Emmie Valencia, a club soccer player who attends Highland High was present with her team to witness the event.

“I was so happy, so shocked. I was like, ‘let’s go’,” said Valencia. “It’s very inspiring. The women’s soccer community doesn’t get a lot of support so it was just very inspiring and upbringing to see them win and bring home the gold medal.”
