California man shoots wife in the head then calls police and says ‘I’m now killing myself’

A man shot his wife dead then called police, reported the crime and told them he would now kill himself after leaving the door open for investigators to come in and find their bodies. According to Hanford Police Lieutenant Justin Vallin, Roger Hedrick, 64, dialled 911 on Sunday at 8:40 a.m. reporting that he had gotten into an argument with his wife Teresa.

Lt Vallin said: “He told our dispatch center that he and his wife were involved in a disturbance and that during the disturbance, she had came after him with a firearm,” Vallin said. “ He, in turn, shot her in the head and said that he would be gone by the time police arrived and that he was leaving the front door unlocked,” he said, going on to give other information, including his name and address.

“Our dispatch center confirmed to him exactly what he said. He acknowledged it as well as spelled his name for us,” Vallin added. The front door was unlocked, Vallin reported, just as Hedrick had promised. Officers discovered Hedrick and his wife Teresa dead in their bedroom after they had entered. He claimed that both suffered headshots.
