BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern Cancer Walk and Run is set for Sept. 14 at The Park at Riverwalk.
Potential participants can register before Aug. 14 at 11:59 p.m. for a 50 percent discount. After Aug. 14 at 11:59 p.m. registration for the 5K run and walk increases from $10 to $20.

Organizers say there will be a jog-a-thon for kids. The event is set to feature vendors.
The proceeds for the event will go to raise awareness for children and adults diagnosed with cancer.
