BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A semi-truck fire is slowing traffic on northbound Highway 99 near Merced Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 1:15 p.m. when a semi-truck on the roadside became engulfed in flames, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Page.
Officials say the fire then spread to grass in the area.
Fire officials told 17 News the grass and semi-truck fires are extinguished.
It is not immediately known what started the fire.
Avoid the area if possible.
