Women’s and Girls’ Fund takes on education first

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET)– Launched nearly 20 years ago, the Women and Girl’s Fund have addressed some serious challenges here in Kern County.

There are some non-profits with really great mission statements that don’t get enough funding.
Funding that could be the catalyst for changing someone’s life.

That’s where The Women’s and Girls’ Fund has stepped in year after year to ensure women get the resources needed.

It’s no secret that Kern County is met with lots of different issues, just like everywhere else.

However, there are non-profits and individuals that truly want to see the next generation of women overcome their struggles and succeed.

The people behind the Women’s and Girls’ Fund are part of that. They’re even willing to contribute to nonprofits that teach the basics, like money.

“There’s been a few organizations that teach financial literacy specifically or even just with FAFSA,” Teems Tulfo, the Director of Community Impact with Kern Community Foundation, said.
