Bakersfield City Council to vote on $27 million dollar upgrade to Centennial Corridor

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — (KBAK/FOX58) Bakersfield City Council will be voting Thursday, September 5th on a $27 million dollar upgrade to the Centennial Corridor. The upgrade would connect eastbound traffic from Highway 58 to northbound traffic on Highway 99 with the location expected to be above Wible Road. What remains unclear is if existing infrastructure like homes and businesses will need to be torn down for the project to move forward. The company expected to win the bid is Bakersfield-based Granite Construction Company.
