BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Portrait of a Warrior Gallery honored its 6th anniversary and 27 Kern County service members who lost their lives in combat following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony was held Tuesday morning in the Lady Liberty Parking lot, right across the street from the gallery in Downtown.

“Anyone can come here and see the sacrifice. It’s not their young person has passed and they’re kind of put away somewhere. This is four days a week, people come, people can pass through the gallery, see something about these soldiers that is incorporated in these portraits, and know them,” gallery Director and Founder Lili Marsh said.

Tours of the gallery are available Tuesdays through Thursdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information visit their website, Kern-Warrior.org.
