PG&E announces rate increase coming in October

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Pacific Gas and Electric Company announced customers will see a rate increase beginning in October to help cover costs associated with wildfires and storms.

The California utilities commission approved the rate hike Thursday. The average customer can expect to see their bill increase by about $60 per month.

PG&E said the increase is to cover the cost of wildfire mitigation and recovery, as well as, damage from historic storms that hit California at the end of 2022.
