17’s photojournalist wins 1st place in Kern County Fair photography competitions

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET)– The Kern County Fair is not just for food and rides. Every year the fair hosts competitions in a variety of categories showcasing Kern County residents’ many talents.

That included a KGET photojournalist showcasing his still photography talents.

KGET photojournalist Juan Corona won first place in two categories in the Kern County Fair’s photography competition.

He won first place in “Professional color- inanimate objects” for a photo of the historic Padre Hotel. Corona also won first place in the “Landscape” category for a photo shot in the mountains east of Bakersfield.

He won second place in the “Sunrise and Sunsets” category and second place in the “Plants and Flowers” category.
