CHP Bakersfield to offer free safe driving classes for teens and parents

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — To help teens and their parents stay safer on the roads, the California Highway Patrol is hosting a free Start Smart class next week.

On Oct. 2, the class is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., at the Bakersfield CHP office on Compagnoni Street.

KCSO to host hiring event on Saturday

The two-hour session will focus on safe driving habits, consequences of poor decision behind the wheel, and tips to help avoid accidents.

At least one parent or guardian is required to attend with the teen.

Organizers says space is limited, and participants must register by calling the Bakersfield CHP office at 661-396-6600.
