BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Blowing dust from strong winds is covering the Bakersfield area Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued a dust warning Monday for parts of Kern, Kings and Tulare counties. Dust could be seen blanketing parts of northern Kern County and areas in Tulare, Porterville and Visalia.

Parts of Bakersfield saw some rain Monday afternoon, and winds gusts were approaching 40 mph, Charette said. The storm is blamed for outages that knocked out power to over 5,000 PG&E homes and businesses in Bakersfield
The dust also raises concerns of Valley fever. Residents should stay indoors until dust clears, Charette said.
