BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Tuesday marks one-week since Election Day and the Kern County Elections Office is still tabulating votes.
Elections officials said there are still about 50,000 ballots from Kern County voters left to process. Kern County officials are expected to provide another update by Tuesday evening.

Voters were able to return their signed ballots up to Election Day. If ballots were sent back through the U.S. Postal Service, they had to be postmarked Nov. 5. The elections office can receive ballots up to seven days after Election Day.
22nd Congressional District
In the closely-watched 22nd Congressional District race, Democrat Rudy Salas looks to unseat incumbent David Valadao.
Valadao holds the lead with around 54% of the vote, while Salas trails by less than 10,000 votes. With thousands of votes left to be tallied, election experts say this race is too close to call.
District 5 Supervisor
The 5th supervisorial district race is nearly even, according to the latest vote count from elections officials. Incumbent Leticia Perez and Kimberly Salas are separated by only 200 votes with Perez in the lead.
