‘Hope Beyond the Box’ food drive seeking donations for Thanksgiving dinner boxes

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — CityServe and Bank of America have partnered up for the inaugural Hope Beyond the Box food drive in an effort to provide Thanksgiving boxes to Kern County’s most vulnerable families.

Food insecurity has doubled in Kern over the last 18 months.

The Holiday Cottage brings gifts to foster children

The organizations are collecting canned and boxed food, at all Bakersfield Bank of America locations, to deliver Thanksgiving meals to families at their doorsteps, according to Crissy Cochran, City Serve Executive Director of Communications.

Hope Beyond the Box is collecting donations at the CityServe headquarters at 3201 F. St., now until Nov. 22. The organization is also accepting monetary donations at their website.

  • canned hams
  • greenbeans
  • corn
  • fried onions
  • cranberry sauce
  • gravy
  • boxed mashed potatoes
  • stuffing
