BPD Chief Terry discusses Marketplace shooting, pedestrian fatalities, porch pirates

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield Police Chief Greg Terry joined 17 News at Sunrise to talk about the status of shooting that took place at a popular southwest Bakersfield shopping mall and road improvements to deter pedestrian deaths around town.

Chief Terry discussed the shooting between a 15-year-old who shot and killed another 15-year-old at the Marketplace. It’s been over a month since the shooting, yet no charges have been filed.

He also discussed residents having their packages stolen during the holiday season. The police chief gave some tips on the benefits of home surveillance cameras.
