BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Activities League celebrated a new playing field with city officials Thursday evening.
The Bakersfield Police Activities League on East 4th Street has been helping at-risk youth stay off the streets and out of trouble for over 30 years. The program, with the help of the Anand Legacy Foundation, revealed a new 50,000-square foot field and a new computer lab for kids.

The Anand Legacy Foundation donated $100,000 to help refurbish the field and classroom.
The new field, which will be used for soccer, baseball, and football, is sure to be filled with playing children during the after-school program. The after-school program runs Monday through Friday, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
