Runners, joggers and walkers of all ages joined the Hanukkah 8 Krazy Kilometers, an 8K run organized by Temple Beth El, on Dec. 8 at the scenic Panorama Vista Preserve. It was an advance celebration of the eight-day Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. (This year, Hanukkah began at sundown on Dec. 25, and ends at sundown on Jan. 2.) Also known as the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah is traditionally celebrated by lighting a menorah, eating foods fried in oil such as latkes (potato pancakes), playing the dreidel game, and exchanging gifts.
