Kern County man found guilty of attempted murder over $200 debt

BAKERSFIELD, California – A Kern County jury has found Shawn Brown guilty of attempted murder, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and attempted robbery, among other charges, after he attempted to kill a man over a debt of less than $200.On September 28, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Shawn Brown confronted an acquaintance in a parking lot at the southwest corner of Allen Road and Rosedale Highway in Bakersfield.
