BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man faces nearly 10 years in prison after he was convicted of domestic violence and assault by a Kern County jury, the District Attorney’s Office said.
The jury found Wildson Tol Morales guilty of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, false imprisonment and child abuse following a trial ending Jan. 31, according to a release form the District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer’s office.

Morales was convicted of an attack against his wife while she was holding their 1-year-old child in April 2024. Morales attacked his wife with a pair of scissors at home and held her down on the floor preventing her escape. Another person inside the home choked Morales unconscious, stopping the attack and allowing his wife to escape, officials said.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 4. Morales faces up to nine years, eight months in prison.
