Bakersfield PD to resubmit deadly Marketplace shooting investigation findings to District Attorney’s office

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — It has been four months since a teenager shot and killed another teen at The Marketplace and still no charges have been filed.

On Nov. 10, 2024, Prince Michael Banner was shot at The Marketplace on Ming Avenue in southwest Bakersfield. Banner was later pronounced dead.

Police identified Albert Briseno Jr. as the shooter. Briseno Jr. turned himself in to police two days later, but was released.

Investigators said Banner also had a gun at the time, but they don’t believe he fired his weapon. Officials also say Briseno has associated with a local street gang, though they haven’t confirmed he is a member…
