BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A tragic accident claimed the lives of Desiree and Max Mooney early Sunday morning when their Uber was struck by an alleged drunk driver.
The couple, who were returning from a birthday celebration, were killed in the crash at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Coffee Road. Max died at the scene, while Desiree succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
