BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Two people were arrested in southeast Bakersfield Tuesday when probation officers said they discovered a sawed-off shotgun, drugs, and evidence of drug sales in a home search.
The Kern County Probation Department said on March 18, officers assigned to the department’s Adult Probation Services Division performed a home call in the 300 block of Augusta Street, near Kincaid Street and Virginia Avenue. They contacted Melody Berst, 35, who is on felony probation, and Darrell Brownen, 47.
In the search, they found a 12-gauge, sawed-off shotgun, over half an ounce of suspected methamphetamine, 32.6 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of drug sales…
