FRESNO, Calif. — The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has allocated $1 billion statewide for infrastructure improvements, with significant funding directed toward Fresno and Kern counties. The investment, backed by Governor Gavin Newsom’s Build More, Faster – For All initiative, aims to enhance safety and sustainability across California’s roadways, sidewalks, and bike paths.
Fresno County will receive $4.38 million to repair pavement and culverts along Interstate 5 near Mendota, fully funded through Senate Bill (SB) 1. Additionally, the City of Huron will benefit from $1.53 million for sidewalk construction and repairs.
In Kern County, the Kern River Parkway Multi-Use Path will see $900,000 in safety enhancements, including resurfacing and new crossings. (Source: CTC).
