BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — No amount of rain dampened the spirit of participants of the 2025 Bakersfield Marathon.
The eighth edition of the race was delayed Sunday because of rain but when the starting gun went off, the big race was on.
Early morning rain soaks Bakersfield ahead of marathon
Over four thousand people participated in this year’s event.

- Full Marathon – Male: Percy Amendariz (Bakersfield)
- Full Marathon – Female: Diana Reyes (Shafter)
- Half-marathon – Male: James Lopes (Bakersfield)
- Half-marathon – Female: Courtney Alsup (Bakersfield)
