Driver crashes into power pole in SW Bakersfield, affecting over 800 customers

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Just before noon Tuesday, a driver crashed into a power pole along Taft Highway and Gosford Road, causing over 800 customers to lose power, according to the California Highway Patrol and PG&E.

Witnesses reported seeing the driver removing items from the vehicle, including a case of beer, said the department’s website.
